Exhibitions Coordinator and Facilities Management Experience

When it comes to managing a university facility, there are a number of tasks that need to be done by the facilities manager and there are a number of jobs that are reserved for university facilities workers and contractors that have specific skills such as electricians, plumbers, masons, concrete finishers etc..  Understanding each task and knowing who to contact is very important.  It's best to know these workers by name and to build a positive relationship with them.  Below is a list of facilities management tasks and skills that I've acquired.

  • Daily and nightly security walks

  • Security alarm setting

  • Security camera monitoring

  • Retrieving security video of recorded events

  • On call monitoring for facilities emergencies such as flooding, alarm trips...etc....

  • Software supervision and control of locked and unlocked doors for things like catering, construction work, etc....

  • Event setup, monitoring, and closing

  • Supervising museum construction work and facilities projects

  • Working directly with university facilities staff and contractors
