Sam's fascination with art began during his childhood in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania where he was born and raised. The city is home to a thriving arts scene with superior universities, a beautiful landscape, and a deep, rich history. Growing up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Sam's life was spent taking art lessons in the city, playing sports, and exploring everything that the city had to offer.
Sam went to Shaler Area High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors Degree in Studio Arts. The degree was a mixture of disciplines from drawing and painting to sculpture and digital art with a concentration in Art History. Outside of his studies he was a Pitt track and cross country athlete that became a three time All-American in Track and Field as well as a sub-4 minute miler.
Currently Sam lives in Boulder Colorado where he works as a Museum Liaison as well as a Facilities Manager and Exhibitions Coordinator Assistant at The CU Art Museum (University of Colorado). He also works in construction and has experience in masonry, concrete, painting, carpentry, metal work, landscaping and excavation.
